Queen Anne’s Jewels: Anne Hathaway Jewelry

The actress Anne Hathaway popped into the public eye very early on with her leading role in The Princess Diaries at the age of 19 where she was forced to hold her own with the legend Julie Andrews playing her grandmother. The film’s immensely commercial success and subsequent sequel was credited to Anne’s stunning performances.

She continued to work in fun, family oriented movies as she worked on The Princess Diaries 2-including Ella Enchanted and Hoodwinked. However, in 2005 at the age of 23, Anne decided to take on more grown up roles. She took on a more dramatic part in Brokeback Mountain as Lureen Newsome, the woman married by Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) despite his homosexual love for Ennis del Mar (Heath Ledger). Anne also shimmered in the role of Jane Austen in the British independent film Becoming Jane. During this time, Anne also took on more commercial adult roles like in The Devil Wears Prada and Get Smart.

So many successful projects lead to multiple award nominations and award show appearances. Always classy, Anne developed an elegant style that her countless fans wanted to emulate.

Knowing that her graceful and beautiful swan like neck required no additional adornment, Anne kept to strapless dresses without any jewels in the form of necklaces, collars, or pendants.Yet, she has an extreme fondness for diamond earrings, particularly those fashioned by Cartier. Wearing earrings helps to frame her face and draw attention to her stunning cheekbones. She does not settle for common studs though. All of her earrings for these affairs tend to reach down at least an inch from the bottom of her earlobe. The shortest of these earrings are from her appearance on the 2009 Academy Awards red carpet even though they were worth almost $1 million.

Anne likes to stick to longer, chandelier earrings though, and this is a wise choice. Her long face shape, somewhere between circle and oval, is accentuated with these dangling ear jewels. In fact, one of the pieces to be auctioned off by the federal government which was a gift to Anne from her infamous ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri are a pair of lovely blue bejeweled chandelier earrings. The2009 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art showed how she compensates for shorter earrings by having them be large width wise as she wore the Van Cleef “Camelia” earring set composed of 5.8 carats of diamonds and emeralds. Even if you do not have the stunning bone structure of Anne, you should not necessarily be afraid of long, dangling earrings or larger, wide sets. The right selection can still add to your face shape and create additional sparkle around the upper part of your body.
